Folly is the best! This place is as advertised. Everything you need. Clean, location, and cozy. Only reason not full 5 stars is the rental company hits you with an additional pet fee after you book on Airbnb which would have been nice to know about prior to booking. Awesome time. Would definitely rebook License to Chill!

I had never been to Folly beach but now I know why other reviewers said this house was in a great spot! While technically two blocks from the beach, the blocks are very small. You can see the beach sand as soon as you turn the corner. It is easily walkable to all the many restaurants and nightlife. I did not find it loud during the night in the house. The place was super clean and cozy. The upstairs room does get very humid by afternoon and adding a simple standing fan would be hugely helpful.
The beds were very comfortable.
We loved being able to spray off sand w/ the outside shower and hose.
The biggest problem, which isn’t unique to this house, is the parking situation. Locals do not respect the signs that say “resident parking only”. We took another reviewer’s suggestion and pulled the recycling and trash cans into the spot if we needed to move the van. That mostly worked but not always! Overall, was a great stay!

My best friend and I had an amazing time at this home for my birthday. We loved how the house was perched up and away from the road, which made it feel private even though it was in the middle of town. Amazingly close to the beach. Fabulous space. Great kitchen.

cute beach bungalow up on a hill. newly renovated, clean and bright. It's close to town so everything is in walking distance. Our teenage son appreciated the bedroom upstairs with his own television. Our dog enjoyed sunning herself on the patio.

Shy of being on the beach itself, you couldn’t ask for a better location. Parking worked out well. The house was beautiful, clean and suited our needs. We brought our dog and the fenced in yard worked out great for him. There is an extra charge outside of your Airbnb purchase, so just be aware that you’ll be contacted once you rent the house.
The amenities in the house were modern and convenient, you will need to bring many of your own items or purchase them onsite. We needed things like seasonings and tinfoil for the grill and detergent for the washing machine.
You’re about 2 minutes from the beach and the sunrises from the front deck were phenomenal. We will definitely stay here again.

Nice location close to everything ! Beach is 5 minutes of walk. Lot of room in the house. Very clean and functional. The outside is also nice to enjoy lunch and dinner. One thing to optimize would be to have exterior guinguette lights and a rain protection. Thank you !

FL spring break mid-march. Great stay - great place. S. Carolina is still warming up but with a couple bright sunny hi-60's the beach and ocean are still good as the beaches were full but not crowded. From our fishing charter experience it may have been too early to catch anything which was disappointing. However Folly Island and the Cottage were an excellent choice for us.

I’ve stayed here twice now, the location is great. I park my car when I get to folly and I don’t move it until it’s time to leave. Walkable to any of the restaurants on folly as well as the beach. Still tucked away from the street enough to enjoy sitting on the patio. Such a great spot!

Booked the day before for a last min 4th trip for with the fam. Truly worth the other 5 star reviews. Everything was super easy, the place was really clean and the location was fantastic. Being able to take our dog was another plus. I did sweep away some of what could have been the china berries but fortunately our dog wasn’t interested in them. This little place is a gem and folly is great.

My daughters and I stayed here last year with our new puppy and it was perfect! So we decided to book again for 2023! Love the kitchen and living area. Beds comfortable. Love the fenced yard for the pup. Location is superb. Couple comments for improvement … Upstairs gets a little warm, would love to have the pollen and debris blown out of yard before arrival (would keep the pup from accidentally bringing it inside) and could use some frying pans that don’t stick! But we love it and will rent again if it is available next year!

Had a wonderful time at Folly Beach. The house was very clean and updated. Comfortable beds. Great location: 2 short blocks to beach and 1/2 a block to shopping, bars and restaurants. The front deck was great for people watching and enjoying the afternoon sun. Parking was a problem. There are 2 spots, but they are not reserved and anyone can park there. Had to utilize the paid parking across the street. The front stairs from the street to the house are very narrow which made it difficult to get our suitcases up and down. The upstairs bedroom could use some blinds. Management is a stickler on 4pm check-in and would not allow us to get in 20 minutes early.

This house was insanely clean (and I have high standards), the PERFECT location, and one of our favorite places we have stayed on Folly. The outdoor space is so cute and fenced. We will 100% be staying here again. That being said there were a few negatives. The house has a grill but the propane tank was empty on arrival and when I called the rental company they said you have to provide the propane yourself, so you would be filling the tank to basically use once or twice. For as much as you are paying to rent the house, providing propane to me should be a cheap curtesy. that would last a while. The house has reserved parking spots in front. Parking during the week was no problem. However, on the weekend nights, people will just park in the reserved spots. The house could easily hold 2-3 groups of families/couples, but there was hardly ever room for 2-3 cars in front of the house. Since our group had one car it was not a big problem but could have been on the weekend nights when parking on Folly is difficult in general. Lastly, we had out two year old with us. The front door locks automatically when shut, aka no dead bolt on the inside. If I didn't have a wild toddler I would never think anything about this, but we quickly learned that with no way to lock the door from the inside, he would just let himself out CONSTANTLY, so he could not be out of our sight at any time. All of that to say, I would bring something to toddler proof the front door handle. Keep in mind, with those few minor negatives, we LOVED this house and will stay here again. Worth the money.

Absolutely amazing location and house! Great outdoor area for grilling and chilling. You don’t need to drive anywhere once you arrive. Close to the beach, bars, restaurants and grocery store. Only issue we had was someone was parked in one of our parking spots out front when we arrived. Called, and William was extremely helpful with calling the tow truck company and having the vehicle removed. Would highly recommend this house. We didn’t bring our dog this trip but love that it’s dog friendly and would come back with him next time. Completely fenced in around the entire house making it super nice for your pet to enjoy the outside space with you.

Superb location close to everything. Really enjoyed the outdoor space as well as indoor. Perfect for my family of four (me, husband, twin toddlers) and our pup. 2 block walk to the water, 1 block walk to everything in center Folly Beach. We were so sad to check out and can't wait to be back!

This is a cute little cottage. I am picky about cleanliness of a rental, and this exceeded my expectations. The location is so convenient to the beach, the local grocery store, a bike rental place, and all the restaurants and bars in Folly Beach. We only used our car to go to and from Charleston - there was no need to use it once we were in Folly Beach. The front patio area was a great people-watching perch. The kitchen was well appointed for cooking too - it had all the basic equipment you would need to prepare a meal. The stairs from the street to the house would be a liability for anyone with mobility issues, which was not a concern for us, but should be noted. I highly recommend, and would rent again.

Easy walk to everywhere. Fenced in yard was great for the dog and the extra room upstairs turned out to be a good playroom for the kids.

We loved this property for us and grown kids, and dog! Close to beach and all restaurants. Kitchen was well equipped, with a huge island…great for playing games on! Nice to have a fenced in area to eat outside, so the dog didn’t have to be tied up.

I can't say enough good things about License to Chill. I've been going to Folly for 10 years and will tell you this is my most favorite place! Close to everything, no need to rent a golf cart as I've done for rentals further down the street. The fact that my daughter could take her dog and the fenced in area was great. Elevated off the road so people walking by didn't have her barking all the time. Open floorplan very well appointed. Close to beach, Bert's and restaurants to walk to.

Licensed to Chill provides all of the comforts necessary to fully experience Folly Beach! You are just steps to the beach and to the main drag with stores and restaurants. Our pup enjoyed his trips to the beach and to the nearby Bark Park, while my husband and I appreciated the closeness to excellent seafood and places to relax. The house is as-described and provided a comfortable place to relax while we visited family in nearby Charleston. Follys Best is super responsive with all communications, and strives to ensure you have a good stay. Definitely recommend!

The Best Rentals staff

Our family had a great week At Folly’s Best. The location is fantastic, close to the beach, shops and Berts Market if you need some groceries. Modern kitchen with everything you need for cooking & lovely modern bathrooms. We really liked the fenced in yard for our kids and small dog too!

Beautifully renovated and *extremely clean* home right off Center Street. Access to shops, restaurants, and beach could not be easier. With proximity comes activity, so note there is nearby amplified music until 11pm or so. It’s not terribly loud, but people in the upstairs room will be able to hear it - if you have kids plan to play some white noise for a bit. Kitchen has all the basics and management company left paper towels and essentials starter pack. If you bring bikes, boards, floats, there is plenty of room to store them on the patio, but not covered/locked storage. Cute little house with all the updates and impeccably clean!
