One of Folly's Best, 99 Steps Away. This adorable 4 bedroom, 2 bath Folly home is one of the few remaining ‘streetcar’ houses on Folly Beach. This classic home is also only 99 steps away from the beach, which inspired the property name. Located on the quiet west end of Folly, this home is the perfect spot for a relaxing beach trip. This home features plenty of outdoor space to enjoy with the family. If you want to relax on the deck while grilling or step inside to the screened in porch where you can have an outdoor meal or lounge on the sofa and listen to the waves just across the street. Bring your s’more fixins’ as there is also a fire pit in the backyard.
This updated classic has all the comforts plus a little extra. The living room and dining room feature windows that fill the room with natural light. Stay connected on your stay with WIFI and Smart TVs throughout. A pass through between the kitchen and dining room means you can always feel connected to your guests.There is even a special board game wall that features games for all ages. The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances to create a memorable dish. This home can sleep 8 guests with a comfortable King bed and smart TV in each bedroom. The primary bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a separate closet that features the shower, the washer/dryer, and a private entrance to the backyard. The bedrooms in the front of the home are connected. The front bedroom features a private entrance to the home through the screened porch. Stay cool in the summer as the HVAC was replaced in ‘24.

Folly Home Steps from the Beach!
99 Steps is everything you need to enjoy Folly. If all you need is a place to keep your drinks cold, a place to eat and sleep… this is your place. You cannot beat the access to the beach (across the street). It is an older cottage, but in my opinion that is the charm of the place and Folly. Yes, you do need to go through one bedroom to get to another… but it was not an issue for the 18 year olds in those rooms. Kitchen is well stocked (but bring your basics, oil, spices, plastic wrap etc). We LOVED that we could bring our dog, who loves the beach. Ashely can be a busy road, but it’s mostly during the day, when we were at the beach.. so I cannot say we were bothered. Best Rentals is an excellent property manager. They are responsive and even checked in in-person on our first day just to make sure we have everything we needed. We would definitely book again.Janice - Posted: 4/12/2025

Space was great for my partner and myself, plus 6 gen-z guests ranging from 11 to 21. Plenty of space for everyone to stay and play. Literally across the street from beach access, couldn't be better in that regard. Kitchen was well stocked and with pots/pans/etc and worked great for all of our meals. Staff was very responsive and friendly, both through the app and on the phone.
I would recommend bringing your own soap/shampoo -- they did provide a small amount (what you'd get in a hotel room for two consecutive nights) but it was not nearly enough for our crowd.Owen - Posted: 8/14/2024

Great quirky house close to beach
The house is from the 30s and has a great personality! Beach access is very easy. Property was clean. We had a couple of small issues the 1st evening and by 10:30am the next morning they had already came over and resolved! Property is close to “downtown” Folly Beach but far enough away to be quiet. This home was perfect for our stay. Everything was so clean free of any dust very detailed in the cleaning. We were provided with amenities that lasted our stay. The towels and linens were so fresh and very high quality luxury. The beds were so comfortable and the comforters were so clean and heavenly. I highly recommend your stay here. We enjoyed our stay in Folly Beach! The house is so close to the beach. I love that we could just pop over anytime we wanted. My favorite place in the house was definitely the screened in porch. We hung out there to relax and chat, we played games and ate meals at the table. It was a perfect place to enjoy the thunderstorm one night! The last night we were there we enjoyed a campfire out in the backyard. The house is cozy and in a little need of an update. We did have some electrical problems which were taken care of right away through the management company. The kitchen is pretty equipped but could use a few more things to make it more complete like tin foil and food storage containers like ziplocks and tupperware. The house also lacked beach towels which I thought would have been rather useful so we didn't have to use the white bath towels.
