Sand Castle in the Sky

Incredible location! Right on the beach and walking distance to bars, restaurants, coffee, shops, and anything else you need for a beach staycation.
The rental agency was very easy to communicate with and provided plenty of information about the rental.
There was a minor problem with the air conditioning, but the rental agency communicated effectively and I’m sure has handled it by now

A great location. Very close to many markets, shops and restaurants as well as steps from the beach. Only downside was climbing all the stairs every time but that wasn't too bad. Convenient parking right on site. Would definitely stay here again!

The condo was great. The kitchen well stocked with cooking, eating utensils. Each bedroom had a nice space, and own bathroom. The startup supply of paper, soaps was nice to have. Beds & living room furniture comfy. Being on the 3rd floor, the deck does not have a cover so a little toasty in the afternoons. The deck furniture is a little weathered. There are 54 stairs to the 3rd floor. The elevator was out of order. I recommend if this is a health issue, or a pet (we did not) & stairs might be an issue, verify the elevator is working. On a good note, new elevator was delivered to replace the old. Hopefully its repaired as you read reviews! Our group ranged in ages 3 to 90 and we manage the stairs like a pro!!! The location is perfect for walking to restaurants, shops and Bert's (ice cream, pastries, iced coffee, sandwiches, ect) Overall, the condo interior is nice and easy walk to beach. Park your vehicle and enjoy the stay. Happy Vacationing!!!

We had a wonderful time! The condo was great!!
It's a great location on the beach with an easy walk to the pier, restaurants and stores near our location.
The condo was perfect for us. We were a group of 5 and everything was as described. location was perfect and the communication was excellent.
Condo is equipped with pots, pans, silverware, plates, bowls, toaster, blender, coffee maker, microwave, working stove, double fridge. Excellent.
Condo was very clean!
The only issue we had was the elevator wasn't working, we had to climb 4 sets of stairs to get to the condo. (Not the rental company responsibility, but still.)
We had a great time!!

Awesome location that is within walking distance to the important stuff! The unit itself was very clean, nice layout, with incredible views. Easy access to the beach. The balcony is an excellent spot for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Elevator was broken and it was HOT the week I stayed, but still very much worth it. I enjoyed it tremendously and will be looking to return next year.

Location is an important factor for us when choosing a place to stay. Sand Castle in the Sky did not disappoint! It's walkable to many restaurants and shops. The ocean view from this 3rd floor condo is perfect. Even when it was a bit too chilly to be on the beach in early March lounging on the deck made up for it. Responsive property manager when questions arose. Clean and comfortable accommodations. We will definitely choose to stay at Sand Castle in the Sky in the future.

I cannot express how beautiful this condo is. The pictures definitely don’t do it justice. The unit was impeccably clean and comfortable for a beach front condo and we have pretty high standards when it comes to rental properties. My parents and our 3 pups stayed for 4 nights and we could not believe how gorgeous and private the condo was. The view and sunsets on the huge patio and close proximity to the restaurants and shops made it a perfect spot for us. The only draw back was the elevator sometime didn’t work and climbing 4 flights of stairs was a heavy strain for my elderly parents and myself post 2 knee surgeries, but other than that minor inconvenience it was worth every penny to stay here and we definitely plan to come back again in the future!

My two college age kids came home for Thanksgiving week to visit my husband, daughter and I and we decided to get out of the city and go to the beach. Folly was perfect! Adorable a beach town just 10 minutes outside of Charleston and right on the beach. It was a great family getaway, a perfect beach location, and the condo was adorable. It was bright, had a stunning view, fantastic deck (3rd floor) where we sat every morning watching the waves and morning surfers, nicely decorated, clean, nice linens and bedding, well stocked kitchen for us to pull off Thanksgiving, The manager replied to questions immediately, and a nice touch to have someone stop in the morning after we arrived to see if everything was ok. Kudos to the property managers. We wanted to stay longer!

Our check-in date was when Hurricane Ian was supposed to hit Charleston. I appreciate the staff at Folly's Best who I called often- they patiently kept me updated regarding the condition of the property post hurricane. We ended up checking in a day later for safety's sake, but everything was fine.
My daughter is a clean freak- even she said the place was super clean when we checked in. The kitchen was better stocked than most.
We had a wonderful family vacation- Sand Castle in the Sky was comfortable, clean and a great location!

We were so fortunate to find a place last minute right on the beach! The location was perfect (steps to beach and a quick walk to dinner). Deck furniture was a bit old/sad but the view was amazing. It is right by the pier but construction wasn’t too noisy. Beach isn’t deep so get a spot early. Only negative was that no one was staying the days before us, but it would cost $100 to get in an hour early.

The condo was very well equipped. Very nice, clean unit. It was a set up and ready to go with Linens , a little starter kit including dishwasher, wash machine pods, trash bags, TP and other items. Very nice thank you:) We hiked the stairway (4 stories) just about every time in and out of the condo. Great work out if you need your steps:) Elevator was very slow. My wife didn’t like it. Waited at least ten minutes when we tried getting our stuff to the car to leave. But the VRBO post did say owner had nothing to do with elevator. It took a few of days to get replacement light bulbs for the lamps in the living room. The bulbs were missing . We just moved bulbs from bedroom to living till we got some. I emailed 2 different days. probably should have called. The unit is very close to all the action. With in a short walk to beach, shopping, eating and entertainment. We really liked that. We had an awesome time. We would rent again.

We love this condo! We come to it every January with our pups. I will say the only downside this year was the construction literally right next door. It started every morning between 7-8am - which you hope you get away from on vacation haha. But outside if that we still had a lovely time. We love bringing the dogs here to enjoy the beach!

Our family loved our time at this location. In fact we were able to delay our next stop and stay an extra day! I don’t think my wife has ever been so sad to leave somewhere. It was great to admire the beach and water from the patio and even inside the home. We also were able to visit Charleston several times without spending to much time in the car. This is a lovely little spot with superior beach access and views. All basic amenities included. Include Folly's Beach Chair Rentals (link on Folly's Best website) and you'll have to pack next to nothing. Great for adult groups and families alike.

Each bedroom has its own bathroom - a big plus. Nicely furnished and has just about anything you might need in the kitchen for simple meal preparation. Bed linens and towels plush, soft and comfortable as well as the beds. Please note the televisions, at this time, only have local channels. There is an elevator that doesn't work and hasn't for sometime (building owned by a separate company) so expect to walk up four floors - unloading is on ground floor. The unit is well worth this unnecessary workout. The view is incredible and everything is within walking distance. If you have an issue, the management staff is polite and prompt.

The condo was beautiful. There were some minor repairs needed...Master bathroom shower door did not completely close...Verticals in Master bedroom were missing slats so it allowed lots of early morning light to shine in. Other than those small issues it was clean, gorgeous view, roomy and lovely.

This was the first time that I have rented a "pet-friendly" condo. Even though the photos looked great, I had some trepidation that it would seem sub-par due to prior rentals with dogs. I was so delighted to discover that the unit was delightful, clean and possessed all the necessary equipment for a wonderful stay. The kitchen is equipped for meal preparation for a family and the bedrooms have sufficient pillows, towels, blankets, etc. My husband and boys rely on me to organize these trips and they all gave it a major "thumbs up" for livability and accessibility to restaurants. We would definitely rent this unit again.

We had a group of 3 adult couples. The floor plan was perfect allowing each to have a private bedroom and bathroom. One bathroom had access to the hall and bedroom, but was able to lock off hall door, so it was like 3 on suites. The view was incredible. The sun rise was beautiful. It was warm enough with the sun to spend the afternoon on the balcony. The living room was spacious enough for us to visit and open presents. The kitchen had all the needed items for making breakfast and lunch. Loved the in condo washer and dryer. Just remember to bring your shampoo. The unit has a hair dryer and some basics, such as soap, paper towel and toilet paper. Clean condo. No one else was renting while we were there so it was quiet. Would definitely recommend.

We had a group of 3 adult couples. The floor plan was perfect allowing each to have a private bedroom and bathroom. One bathroom had access to the hall and bedroom, but was able to lock off hall door, so it was like 3 on suites. The view was incredible. The sun rise was beautiful. It was warm enough with the sun to spend the afternoon on the balcony. The living room was spacious enough for us to visit and open presents. The kitchen had all the needed items for making breakfast and lunch. Loved the in condo washer and dryer. Just remember to bring your shampoo. My husband and 2 daughters (age 21 and 18) stayed here and it is now our favorite place we've ever rented! Loved the 2 spare rooms having 2 queen beds instead of one having twin beds (which seems to be the case in many condo rentals). Very clean. And the view - wow! We spent a lot of time on that balcony! We enjoyed it being walking distance to downtown Folly Beach. Easy access to the beach. We joked about everything being labeled, but it helped out a lot (especially with the tv remotes). It was hard to return home. We will definitely rent this place again!

This unit was spotless and such an amazing condo. The beds were so comfortable. The location allowed you to be anywhere you would want in a 5 minute walk. Ocean views from every window. Berts Market a block away has everything you need. Don't forget the crab shack for eats a few blocks away. Cant wait to go back and book this unit soon!

This property is amazing. Even though hurricane Matthew caused us to leave early, we enjoyed every moment until then. The property is Right on the beach. Has an amazing view every morning and evening. Within walking distance of everything. We will return in the spring. We planned our summer vacay kind of last minute, so we were so thankful to have found this property! We wanted oceanfront, pet-friendly, in a good location and a nice place to stay. This property totally fit the bill! My hubby, 2 teen sons and Chesapeake Bay Retriever had such a great vacation at Folly. The condo was so nice and clean, well-decorated, comfortable - it was just perfect. The views from both the front and back of the condo were amazing. I could not stop taking pictures and neither could my kids. We rented a golf cart so we were able to explore the island up close and personal - I recommend it! Took a day trip to Charleston and rode a horse-drawn carriage through downtown Charleston - amazing! Ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp in Charleston for lunch - the best hush pups ever. LOVED Center Street - so bohemian and beach bummy :) Crab Shack is great, Taco Boy was ok (loved the frozen Screwdriver though), Surf Bar is really cool (dive bar vibe with good food), Bowen's Island restaurant has killer views and ok food (fried seafood), Bert's Market was extremely convenient and has everything but definitely is pricey. The fact that Folly is so dog-friendly makes me so happy. Dogs everywhere which we loved. The pier is a must-visit - great place to get your walk on, fish, get an ice cream, get some great pics. And, of course the beach - ahhhh. Dylan, our lifeguard was so nice and accomodating (we rented chairs and umbrellas). Such a great vacation! We'll definitely be back and would absolutely choose Folly's Best Rentals again!!

This was our first time at Folly Beach and we were extremely satisfied with our accommodations! Beach front, walking distance to great restaurants and shopping, and we got to bring our senior dog who is unable to be left under care of others. Very nice place with all the furnishings one needs for a week at the beach. Also very thankful for the elevator as this is a 3rd floor unit. Will definitely be making a return trip!

This condo gave us the best of everything: beach, walking distance to town and excellent accommodations. We brought a beach umbrella for the deck based on a prior review which was really helpful. Our dogs loved sitting outside watching the seagulls and Pelicans fly over. Absolutely a great family vacation.

We loved our recent stay in this condo. The location is within walking distance of everything in Folly Beach. The staff at Folly's Best is easy to work with and is very accommodating to special needs. The elevator was out due to the recent storms and the staff eagerly assisted my husband and me getting our luggage up the stairs. We are older and this was a huge help.

We have stayed at many beach homes/condos for 40 years, and this was by far the nicest. It was extremely clean and even though pets are allowed, you would never know there had been any pets there. It was also well-stocked and nicely decorated. Having an elevator was a real benefit for taking the dogs out and bringing in luggage, groceries, etc. The ocean view was unobstructed and beautiful. Folly's Best Rentals was great to work with - very organized and provided helpful information. We would definitely want to rent this condo in the future!

We had a lovely vacation with a wonderful view & easy beach & restaurant access. It was great to be able to take our dog also. The rental was extremely clean, tastefully decorated, & could be recommended for people without pets as well. Having the elevator was helpful since this is a 3rd floor rental. I do see the porch could get warm in the summer, but that wouldn't deter me...one may just have to be choosy about the times to sit outside. My only complaint is that our door key pad stopped working and we had to sit outside with our pizza, 3 kids (one needing to potty badly), & a dog. I was rather frustrated, but will have to say the locksmith got there in a timely manner to put in a new battery. For the price of the rental, I was disappointed this happened at all. Some system of checking the locks would be helpful. Everything else went smoothly...paying, information about the rental, timeliness, cleanliness, location, etc. I'd rent again if I had the chance.

This condo was beautiful - the ocean view was beautiful. Could prove hot in the summer - being on the top floor. However, in November, it was gorgeous with all the sunlight. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked. Nice linens and towels. Great location - close to downtown. Elevator was very helpful bringing up our luggage. Nice TV's in every bedroom and we loved the "on demand" feature of xfinity. Super clean. Nice convenient parking. We locked our bikes up in the downstairs parking area - there was plenty of room. It would be nice to have a bike rack to store bikes. Comfortable furniture! They even supplied several current magazines. Will definitely come back. November was the best time to visit - great weather, no crowds. I want to keep this a secret, but Folly Beach was a gem!!! Reservations, payments, info - the business end of our rental was exceptionally easy and accurate!

Seance the elv. Did not work I fell u should make allowance for that after all that was one of the sale points ,one of the ladies had a hip replacement not long ago and the charge for the early hour a d half was kinda ridiculous, u could take that off for the inconvenience we suffered carrying things three stories ,other than that it was fantastic tks for the wondful stay

This condo is spacious, beautifully maintained and decorated, with a large kitchen, 3 bedrooms and baths and very comfortable furniture and beds. More than enough room for our family of 4 (2 adults - 2 teenagers). The owners are very organized and have thought of everything. Folly Beach Rentals was easy to work with. Located right on the beach by the pier and within blocks of great restaurants, shops and live music. Some of our favorites were the Lost Dog Cafe, Rita's Seaside Grille, Taco Boy, and the Drop In Lounge. We walked the beach every day - watched the sun rise, found lots of shells and watched surfers while listening to the sound of the ocean waves every night from the deck. Went on a great Folly River and Morris Island tour with Captain Randy from Island Hopper Charters. We've stayed in lots of VRBO properties and this is definitely one of the best.

We picked this location because it was pet friendly and it turned out to be the perfect place to spend my birthday. The condo was beautiful with a great view of the ocean. Everything we needed was supplied. It was clean and well maintained. The staff at Follys Best Rental were easy to communicate with and very helpful. Downtown was within walking distance as were the grocery (Berts) and liquor store!! Would definitely return.
