Sea Glass Cottage

We came to Charleston for some medical testing at MUSC but wanted to offset with a short vacation. This property was perfect. It was awesome that we could bring the dogs with us and it was a very quick walk to the ocean. It was very cozy and had all the amenities we needed. The only thing we would have changed was the queen bed was very creaky and not very comfortable. Being there for medical reasons, it would have been nice to have a more comfortable bed. We ended up sleeping separately on the couch and day bed so we could be more comfortable and have the TV on. If the mattress was changed, we would stay again in a heartbeat. We LOVED the location and property.

We had a wonderful stay in this clean and comfortable cottage within walking distance to the beach (where we could have our two dogs). We did venture on foot to the town center a couple of times to visit the bars and restaurants, and it was just far enough away to ensure the cottage was in a quiet area, a bit removed from the majority of the local traffic. The bed was very comfortable, the window AC in the bedroom was perfect for the evening, and the shower was spacious. Do plan ahead and bring your own coffee as that is not provided (Bert's has some great, local ground coffee!). The hose and outside shower in the back were perfect for removing sand from humans and the dogs before going back inside - what a great feature!

The cottage was perfect for a couple’s get away to our favorite beach! Communication and access was easy. The kitchen was convenient for what we needed. More clarification on the location of washer and dryer was needed, but was convenient once we found it. The window unit in the bedroom was rather noisy, but the cottage was cool enough to leave it off at night to sleep. The street is very quiet and is a short walk to the beach. Thank you! We would definitely stay here again!

Everything at property represented as is in listing. Appreciated that we could bring our dogs and property was able to accommodate a last minute early checkin for added fee. Rules/instructions were straight forward and house had everything we needed to make a rainy stay comfy and cozy. We loved the little town of Folly. We have family in Charleston so this was close enough to be able to participate in the functions we travelled for but far enough away to feel like we had our own getaway. My only complaint, truly, was the shower. The pressure was low and the temperature kept changing from hot to cold on its own. But I don’t personally book properties based on the shower, but just in case anyone reading this does… Everything else was near perfect.

This beach cottage was as listed and in the perfect location! Easy walking to town, the beach and easy to access downtown Charleston. I enjoyed staying in this cottage, however upon arrival there were several air fresheners that were extremely strong. For medical reasons, I cannot have intense smells. I reached out to the property manager who told me they did not have air fresheners in the house, yet I found 4 hidden. I wish they had been honest upfront. Otherwise, amazing stay! Highly recommend!

We had a great time at this little cottage. The only issue we had was when we arrived—the bedroom was 81 degrees! But the host was super responsive and got us a great window unit that cooled off the room very quickly. It was two block from the beach but it was far enough away from center street to be quiet and peaceful. Wish it wasn’t so expensive to stay on folly—but it was still a good stay!

Cute beach cottage was just as described! Just a short walk to the beach and an easy commute into Charleston. Only minor note is that even though they are dog friendly, you have to walk a good bit to let your pet use the restroom because the grass on property stated that the pets weren’t allowed to go there. Other than that we loved our stay! Perfect for a couples weekend.

This was a Girls Beach Bum trip to Folly, and we stayed Sea Glass Cottage. The cottage is close to the beach access and 2 blocks from the beach. Loved the fully stocked kitchen and gas grill. We cooked summer meals every day and didn't go out to eat once. The bed and day bed where both extremely comfortable with nice linens. Extra pillows and blankets were available for use. The evenings were spent on the front screened in porch. As others have said, the mini split system had a hard time cooling the bedroom. We just kept the bedroom door open and kept doors closed unless exiting or entering. The response time from host is the best I've ever experienced. I'd stay here over and over again. In fact, we enjoyed it so much, we extended our vcay and extra night.

Cute, clean pet friendly cottage conveniently located near down town and quick access to the beach. Small AC unit, but did the job well. If you prefer a cooler room to sleep in, I would recommend bringing an extra portable fan for the bedroom. Also, there were not any covers on the couch cushions, which could be due to potential damage from pets, so I would recommend bringing a few extra blankets or sheets to protect the couch. Overall, a wonderful, cozy stay.

We had a great stay, and it was very close to the beach. Great outdoor shower. The mini-split had a difficult time keeping up with the 90 degree temps, and the a/c doesn’t move into the bedroom well.

My husband and I, and our two little pups enjoyed our week at Sea Glass cottage. The proximity to the beach access was easy to walk back and forth too and located far enough away from all of the activity that it felt peaceful for our little family but close enough to bike to Bert’s and Center street easily. The cottage is small but there’s plenty of seating and enough room. The bed was comfy and everything was clean. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. There isn’t a traditional oven/full stove but it was enough for breakfasts and small things and we even baked a pizza on the grill outside. I really enjoyed reading on the screened in porch and the outside shower was great for rinsing off after the beach. We actually requested an additional day during our stay and that was taken care of easily. My only small complaint was that we could have used more bath towels and such. We ended up doing laundry so we just washed the two we had. Overall a very nice stay.

the only downfall was that the nighttime became very cold and the place only had a small radiator thay didn't givemuch heat so we were freezing at night in March. otherwise it was a great location and stay and probably not an issue any other time of year

The Follys Best Rental people are awesome. We loved the cottage. The renovation and decor were neat. Push the knobs all the way down to light the two-burner gas stove. You must let them know early to check in before 4 PM because the lock is timed.

Cottage two blocks from beautiful Folly Beach; two mins walk by public access path. Cottage (one br, kitchen, bath and living rm / dining rm and screened in veranda) is smallish but very charming. The Folly’s Best team were kind and helpful with chair and bike rentals and general questions. I saw previous reviews that mentioned the mattress being uncomfortable. My husband and I did not experience this. I would absolutely rent this cottage again.

The Sea Glass cottage is the perfect place to stay to enjoy Folly. I enjoyed being able to walk to the beach just two streets up - and enjoy the sunrise and sunset with my dog. The cottage is perfect for 1-2 people -- and my Labrador enjoyed it as much as I did. It's comfortable, well maintained and the perfect place to call home while at Folly. The staff at Folly's Best Rentals is great about being responsive and making sure the cottage is in great shape for when you arrive. The stained glass window in the bedroom is terrific. Lots of nice simple unique amenities at Sea Glass cottage make for a nice stay.

We have stayed in many different cottages at Folly over the years, and we would rate Sea Glass as one of our favorites. Great location, nicely appointed, comfortable bed, relaxing front porch. We did have a noisy plumbing problem the first night we stayed, but Folly Best Rentals maintenance was at the unit the next morning to fix it. If all you need is a one bedroom unit, Sea Glass is a winner

Every so often things just work perfectly! The time, the place, the experience all come together. That was what our stay at Sea Glass Cottage was like. Adorable 1940s/ 1950s vibe and so well appointed. Everything we needed right at our fingertips. Our two small dogs loved the beach, two blocks away and the daily walks had so many interesting smells and other dogs to greet. Another plus is that it is six long blocks from the center of town so once you are finished with Folly Beach nightlife you can return to the peace and quiet of this lovely neighborhood. We loved it so much, we have already recommended it to friends and we will definitely be back!

The Sea Glass Cottage felt like home away from home! The house itself was just as pictured - cute, clean and perfectly comfortable for 2 adults and 2 small dogs. The location was amazing - just 2 blocks from the beach, but on a quiet, residential street. Small but workable kitchen, super comfy bed, and plenty of tv channels for those cold or rainy days. Shared laundry facilities were helpful and the optional beach gear (especially the beach wagon) was much appreciated. Check in procedures were super easy, and staff was prompt to fix an issue with the wifi when notified. Easy biking to the beach facing the Morris Island Lighthouse at the end of the island, to the shops, bars and restaurants along Center Street, and to the Folly Beach County Park at the other end of the island. The Sea Glass Cottage is the perfect home base to explore it all and we hope to visit again soon!

Very clean and cozy as advertised. Nice location to the beach ( a couple of blocks to public access walk), tho a little more distant to Center Street than I expected after reading the other reviews. After dark, especially, I would recommend driving car or golf cart. Excellent communication btwn hosts/caretakers and renters. Plenty of bedding/blankets, seating. Complimentary coffee and wine a nice touch and appreciated. Living area could be reconfigured to provide a more spacious couch (as opposed to loveseat) and I would recommend a TV enabled with Netflix/Amazon or Apple so renters could use their own accounts and view shows/movies using these apps. We were not there in "beach weather," so did not avail ourselves of outdoor shower, grill, beach cart or laundry services, but all were easy to find and I'm sure are useful during the beach season. Easy check in/check out. Recommend Sea Glass Cottage for a couple. Thank you!

Quaint, clean, well decorated, close to the beach...great place to stay for two people. I loved it the minute we pulled up. Screened in front porch ideal for drinking your morning coffee. Backyard grill and a kitchen so we cooked almost every night. Comfortable bed, clean sheets, clean bathroom...just made our stay so easy. I felt like I got super lucky finding this on VRBO, I'll stay here again in a heartbeat. Oh, and close to the beach...so if you are like us and carry a tent, chairs, cooler, surfboards, beach games, backpacks...you can make more than one trip and its no big deal;)

My husband and I had a wonderful time in Folly at the Sea Glass Cottage. We were a short 2 block walk to the beach, and a 3/4 mile walk from town, which was not bad at all, we were far enough away from all the noise of town but still able to walk to dinner in the evenings. The owners are very attentive, my husband even left something at the cottage and they mailed it back to us. Would definitely stay here again!

The cottage features neat, collected and up-cycled decor that offers more personality than a typical rental (ex: a giant and beautiful stained glass window-turned-light in the bedroom, etc). Plus, the owners were sweet enough to leave a bottle of wine! Location close to beach, but 3/4 of a mile from the main restaurants/bars. As others noted, the cart, chairs and umbrella were really nice as well - especially for us since we flew from Pennsylvania. Would definitely recommend for a either quiet couple's getaway or perfect family vacation.

My husband and I brought our 3 month old to Seaglass Cottage for his first beach trip and it had everything we needed. The beach cart, chairs and umbrellas that were available were a great perk and we used them! We weren't looking for a lot of night life and so being about 10 mins via walking from the bars/restaurants was okay with us, but when we did walk it was very easy. Loved our time there. Thank you!

We stayed at Sea Glass Cottage for a little less than a week. The property looks just like the photos, but cuter! Everything was extremely clean and well-kept. It was located perfectly, just a street over from the beach and a mile from the main strip of Folly where the restaurants are, etc. I got to meet both Sue & Robin during our stay and they were both exceptional and extremely responsive when I had a question! We liked our little cottage so much that we ended up cooking most of our meals there and we had everything we needed all provided by the cottage for cooking to be simple. We are really hoping we can come back with friends and rent Picket Fence next door sometime too! The only little thing I would say could be improved is that the bedroom gets pretty warm, even though there is an air-mover installed over the door. I don't know if a ceiling fan could be added in there, but that would probably help keep the occupants a little cooler. Other than that, everything else was absolutely perfect! We would highly recommend it and we can't wait to come back! (Our dog loved it too!)

We love this little piece of heaven! This was our second stay at Sea Glass ! The owners are very nice! We love that it's only two blocks from the beach. The house is lovely and decorated nicely! Very clean!! Great restaurants on Center Street. We rented golf carts to get around the island with ease. The house has everything you need including beach items! We love Folly in the cooler months as well... This was our first time at Sea Glass during the bustle of July 4th... Lots of people and busy streets but the atmosphere was patriotic!! We were here for a short trip, just two nights, but we really enjoyed our stay. The property highlights include a very nice, new shower, a super comfortable bed, cable TV, wifi, and a screened in porch. We also took advantage of the beach cart with umbrella, chairs, and cooler. There is also an outside shower to rinse off before coming inside. We didn't have a car, and the roads in Folly Beach were not well lit to walk or bike along at night so we took ubers when they were available. Otherwise, we would have liked to bike during the day, but all the rental companies were sold out. I would recommend calling ahead to have bikes delivered if you will be there a week. Beautiful beach and fun bars and restaurants!

My husband and I stayed in the Sea Glass cottage for a long weekend in order to attend a Saturday evening wedding on Folly Beach. This charmingly decorated and updated cottage was perfect for the two of us! We have rented a number of VRBO places, and this might be our best find yet. It's an easy walk to the beach, and the beach chairs and umbrella provided for guests made our beach visits so comfortable. The cottage itself has been beautifully renovated with new equipment and fixtures -- everything works! -- and the decor was delightful. We were very comfortable here and hope to return soon! We might even bring friends and rent this cottage and the 2 bedroom cottage next door.

This little cabin is super cute, clean and was perfect for our stay with 3 adults. Had absolutely no issues with items being in working order and loved hanging out on the screened porch. Owners are only a few steps away and came by to make sure everything was good. A few cubby holes for storing your items, so you'll need to live out of your suitcase, but we usually do that anyway even if we have dressers. Will definitely look for a vacancy at the Sea Glass when we come back again.

The location is perfect on Folly; couple minutes to the beach and a short walk or ride (Bicycles are the way to travel on Folly) to Center St. with restaurants, shops, bars, parks, and the pier. I had family and friends visit a few times from the mountains and we always had adequate space for enjoyable visits. I definitely recommend Sea Glass and her sister cottage Picket Fence for your next Folly Beach Stay. This was our second stay at the Seaglass Cottage. The owners have thought of everything and Sue is very good about communicating and is very hospitable. We enjoyed our stay at Sea Glass. We live in the mountains and this trip was a great chance to spend a few days "at the beach". This is a wonderful little beach town. It reminds me of my younger days, going to the Florida beaches . This was all before the college spring breaks and crazies. There are wonderful places to eat within walking distance. You can just walk two blocks to the beach and stroll on down to town for a meal. Every place we ate was offering fresh seafood and all kinds of other choices. The cottage is perfect for a couple getaway..very quite, private, and comfortable. Plan to visit again soon.

I love it and everything about it. It was just as it was described and more. I felt at home right as I walked in. The personal touches and decorations were lovely. I love the pattern in the bedspread and pillows. Excellent taste in decorating and the futon was my best friend with all the pillows on my back. I will use this again next time I am in town. Much better than the hustle and bustle of the hotel down the street and a small walk to the beach. LOVE IT!

Sea Glass Cottage was very clean and extremely well equipped. It’s a great location for a couple. We were able to visit a number of sites in the area (from Edisto to Georgetown) that we had not seen when we lived in the area in the late 1960’s, as well as looking at places we remembered from almost 50 years ago. We would certainly recommend it to others. We enjoyed our meals at the Lost Dog Café and the Crab Shack.

Storage space for your clothing was lacking but this was a cute house, nicely decorated with all the amenities needed for the beach. You can tell the owner has spent the necessary $ to maintain the property in tip top condition. Wifi was even available which was nice. The owners are very responsive. Since we did not have a car we rented bicycles to travel around. Great house for a couple.

We stayed at the Sea Glass Cottage in August 2015 while visiting our daughter and son-in-law. The cottage was just perfect for two people. The amenities the owners provided were Great. They really thought of everything you could possibly need while staying at the cottage. I packed things (such as aluminum foil, freezer bags, saran wrap, coffee, splenda, etc) that I did not have to pack because it was already provided. And it was not a bad walk to the beach from the cottage. We brought our bicycles and rode to the Morris Island Lighthouse which was a good workout. I contacted Sue and Robin once and they responded very quickly. Next time we plan to visit our daughter and son-in-law I plan to reserve the Sea Glass Cottage again. Thank you Sue and Robin for making our vacation so enjoyable!

The cottage was darling and very comfortable. It is a short walk to the beach and the owners provide beach chairs and equipment. It was also a fairly short drive to Charleston which was a lovely area for dinner and shopping. There are several historical places to visit around this area also. We found Sea Glass Cottage to be a relaxing place to stay. I would stay here again & recommend it to others.

We loved the cottage, it was just enough room for the three of us. We enjoyed riding our bikes downtown each night and eating local. The cottage came equipped with everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable (beach chairs, towels, toys, beach cart and even a kite). Folly offers so much that we had no need to leave the island. We will most definitely come back and stay here.

My husband and I stayed at the Sea Glass Cottage for a week with our two dogs, and Sue went above and beyond to help make our stay great. The proximity of the cottage to the beach and to the dog park was perfect for us. The cottage is every bit as cozy as described, and we really enjoyed the screened in front porch. It was great to have the option to cook, to use the delivery menus that were provided, or to enjoy a nice walk to Center Street for meals. We stayed in the Sea Glass Cottage for the month of January. The cottage was cute as a button and very cozy. It felt like home. We wanted to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet. Folly Beach in the offseason was exactly what we were hoping for. Sue made sure we o.k. and gave us lots of ideas for things to do while we were there. It is a easy 10-15 minute drive into Charleston . We did go into Charleston a few times to eat and take in the history. But mostly we just enjoyed the peaceful, laid back life of Folly. We absolutely loved it and hope to get back there soon.

My family spent a wonderful 4 days in the Sea Glass Cottage! This place was PERFECT for my husband, toddler, and I. Pictures are represented acurately and the description is spot on so there are no surprises when arriving. Cottage was clean, queen bed was comfortable, and there were enough bathroom/beach towels provided for our family. We never used the daybed b/c my son slept in a pack & play in the living area, but it would have been large and comfy enough for another guest. The kitchen was stocked with enough of the needed essentials to get you through your stay. I cooked breakfast every morning and made sandwiches everyday for lunch which we enjoyed in the nice sitting area off to the side of the living room. The living room was roomy and comfy enough for the family and the whole cottage was decorated very tastefully and fitting for its setting. We never got to use the grill or laundry room, but liked that we had those options avaialble to us. The location of the cottage is great. We were only a couple of blocks from the beach and just the right distance from Center St. that we didn't hear the loud music/crowds in the evening. We went to the beach everyday and ABSOLUTELY loved being able to use the wagon/cart, which made getting things to the beach a breeze. We took advantage of borrowing beach toys and chairs and it made it easier that we didn't have to bring those things with us. The foot bath at the entrance and outdoor shower outback were put into good use to rinse off after our returns from the beach every day. The cottage grounds themeselves were also great and kept up with and we enjoyed sitting out on the screen covered porch every evening. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get away for a relaxing few days or week. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and will definitely come back b/c I didn't want to leave the first time! The owner, Robin, was great and very helpful through the booking process and Sue, the property manager, was very helpful in answering any questions and helping us get situated. We definitely felt welcomed and enjoyed the nice personal touches this place had to offer. We can't wait to return again, can't be soon enough.

Sea Glass Cottage is adorable! Beautiful renovation captures all the quaint charm of the 1940's but has modern conveniences. Brass bed (Q) with a unique lighted stain glass feature in the bedroom, renovated bathroom, nice kitchen. Beautiful original hard wood floors. We used the provided grill area out back in the beautiful garden. Loved the location. Quiet street, two blocks from the beach and six blocks from center street restaurants and bars. We had a great time and will come again.
