Beautiful home. Great views. Can’t wait to come back. House was perfect and in a great location. Cookware could use updated. The one frying pan was warped and the electric griddle in pantry was in bad shape and unusable from whomever used it last and didn’t clean it. But regardless I would 100% book that house again. We really can’t wait to re book it.

This house is a little older but it was nice and clean on the inside. It was easy to get to and had a nice view of the ocean. We would definitely stay here again

This is a comfortable house in a great location. It's beachfront right at the Washout, and we had everything we needed for a comfortable family week at the beach. We would stay again!

The listing is exactly as it looks - certainly some older furniture and fixtures, but clean and comfy. Great front porch and side porch. The starter kit was plenty for our long weekend - def made life easier. We door-dashed one night and cooked one night - it had everything we needed. Would absolutely rent this place again.

Wir hatten einen traumhaften Aufenthalt! Es war so schön, einfach über die Straße ans Meer zu gehen. Man braucht kein Beach-Zubehör, alles was man braucht gibt es auf der sehr großen und schönen Veranda - einschließlich Hängematte.
Das Haus ist gemütlich und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Zwar gibt es keine Spülmaschine und keinen modernen Fernseher oder Programme wie Netflix etc., dafür findet man Ruhe.
Wir können die Unterkunft wirklich weiterempfehlen!

This is a dream location, and a perfect beach house for a casual family beach vacation. We spent every day on the beach, and some evening walks too. The house was fresh and clean, and we had all the basic needs covered. Beyond the basics, the porch with both ocean and marsh views. We loved the hammock placement, the nature views, and tons of wildlife sightings. We even saw two deer running behind the house. The community is quiet and peaceful. The house was precisely as described and reviewed by others!

Agree with all of the other very positive reviews. Beautiful views, comfortable surroundings, easy beach access. If we ever come back to Folly Beach, we'll return to this place in a heartbeat. The management company is exceedingly responsive and kind. My only recommendation is to bring your own beach gear (e.g. towels, chairs, umbrellas, blankets) -- none of it is available to guests, which is a bit odd but a very small drawback to an otherwise wonderful place.

Nice little beach cottage great location. Property is looking a little down at the heels, clean but worn. Maybe that's a consequence of ocean front. Could use a face lift. I continue to resent the high VRBO booking fees - absolutely no value added. This is independent of the property, of course.

such a great place! waking up in the morning was an amazing view. it is a little far down the road from everything else, but we also liked that and how private it made our stay feel. we loved everything about the space as well. we will be booking again!

Last minute rental & we were very pleased. It is 3 bedrooms but we only used one but the rental could easily accommodate 4 (2 bathrooms). Beautiful views from the front porch for morning coffee, easy to cross the street for setting up at the beach. Our hosts provided starter kit which was appreciated, including laundry pods. Thank you!

Directions, access, layout, front and back / side ocean view patios deck, well stocked kitchen with everything you could possibly need to cook for the family. Both bedrooms and bathrooms were well equipped with blankets, towels, ect. The rockers on the front patio were a perfect setting to watch the sunrise, surfers and the ocean waves. We'll definitely be back to this spot; like i said,, it's home away from home.

The location was awesome. The two porches were lovely. The bedding was decent; the living room furniture was ok. The hall bathroom is quite sad and in need of repairs. If you don’t intend to be in the house a lot - it’s terrific. The location was perfect for a nice walk on the beach or sunbathing.

The house was quite spacious with a great view of the washout. The house was also well stocked and clean. The only thing I would mention is that the third bathroom is outside. That is not immediately clear in the description unless you read till the last sentence. Also there is no dishwasher.

We were very happy with our stay at Foose's Folly! The online pictures did not do justice to the view you had of the ocean and the marsh behind the house. We thought the street in front would be a bother potentially, but it was not at all. Safe to walk across to the beach and did not disrupt the view from the porch. The house was great!

Truly a great location. We had issues with the heating and had to leave a couple of days early, but that was no fault of the owner's/manager's. If ever we come back to Folly Beach, we'll definitely be staying here.

This place was wonderful. It had all the comforts of home with the added bonus of waking up to the tranquil sound of the waves crashing on the beach and watching the sunrise. We spent many hours sitting on the porch rocking chairs enjoying the view and relaxing. The restaurants & shops of Folly Beach are just down the road and its a short drive if you want to spend time in the heart of Charleston or explore many of the top attractions in the area. Check-in was straightforward & easy. We appreciated the bag of necessities (paper towels, dish & hand soap, etc) and the book of information of the area was very helpful. Would definitely want to stay here again in the future

Foose’s Folly was perfect for our beach getaway. The house is location is amazing, across the street from the ocean and with decks on the front and back offering beautiful views of both the River and ocean. The house was well equipped with cooking ware, toiletries, towels and everything we needed!It was also very clean and located within 20 minutes of Charleston and Sullivan island ( lots of eateries on a creek with water views). There were also plenty of restaurants on Folly as well as a great little market (Bert’s) that had everything you could need (deli, desserts, groceries, wine and beer etc) within 2 miles of the house. We enjoyed morning coffee on the front porch and cocktails on the back porch in the afternoon. There was plenty of comfortable chairs and a hammock on the deck. The beds were all very comfortable and rooms were a good size. Having a washer and dryer was also a big plus. The remote keyless entry was also a nice feature (no keys to remember). We loved this place and would stay again when in the area!

This house has it all. Space inside, the best porches, views, and very clean. We decided to get away (my daughters and I) for New Year’s and Folly Beach’s Flip Flop Drop was did not disappoint! We had a great rime. My favorite was the porch. Even in the fog, it was nice to sit out and drink coffee and watch the surfer’s at the washout.

This location was great. Views were amazing. A few of the doors/locks weren’t working great. Actually two of us got stuck in the bedroom and we had to call maintenance. They did come and fix it but we were stuck for a few hours. Other than that it is a perfect vacation spot for a family

We spent a fantastic long weekend and really enjoyed the house. The view from the front desk is amazing and sitting on the rocking chairs, watching the surfers and the pelicans was very relaxing. The house is well equipped, very clean, and nicely decorated. We would love to come back at a warmer time of the year so that we can enjoy swimming in the ocean. In short, we really enjoyed our stay and hope we will be able to come back soon!

We cooked delicious seafood (from Crosby's Fish & Shrimp Co) for dinner each night -kitchen well equipped with all the utensil, pots and pans we needed.

This home’s views are even better than the pictures! The home is directly across from “the washout,” a great section tor surfing in Charleston. There are dolphins to watch off the front porch, and it is an easy walk across the street to the beach. The back of the home has a deck with gorgeous marsh views as well. The home itself is extremely clean and well-maintained. I hope to stay here again and would recommend to anyone!!

Foose’s Folly was perfect for our beach getaway. The house is location is amazing, across the street from the ocean and with decks on the front and back offering beautiful views of both the River and ocean. The house was well equipped with cooking ware, toiletries, towels and everything we needed!It was also very clean and located within 20 minutes of Charleston and Sullivan island ( lots of eateries on a creek with water views). There were also plenty of restaurants on Folly as well as a great little market (Bert’s) that had everything you could need (deli, desserts, groceries, wine and beer etc) within 2 miles of the house. We enjoyed morning coffee on the front porch and cocktails on the back porch in the afternoon. There was plenty of comfortable chairs and a hammock on the deck. The beds were all very comfortable and rooms were a good size. Having a washer and dryer was also a big plus. The remote keyless entry was also a nice feature (no keys to remember). We loved this place and would stay again when in the area!

Wonderful space to enjoy being outside. There is a deck or patio for whatever you seek… sun, shade, view, breeze, beach.. you’ve got it. Surfers and dolphins to watch daily. Decks were amazing. The outside space was even better than the inside. It is an older home with some quirks and some bugs, but that is the case with most trips to the beach. View from inside wasn’t much but that was due to all the beach spray on the windows, just go outside. Check in was easy. We loved the ease of the electronic lock… no keys at the beach is genius. Everyone had plenty of space to be together or find solitude. The neighborhood is busy, but still very relaxing. Surf lessons or toys to rent are all conveniently located nearby. Great food and shopping on the island. Wonderful place for a family to enjoy the beach, the surf, the city, or just sit on the deck and enjoy the view. Convenient to everything. We went to the James Island County Park and played one day… amazing place to visit as well.

The house is open and airy. It’s very clean and the kitchen is well stocked. The views are spectacular and the decks are phenomenal. There is comfortable seating on both decks and the views of the marsh and ocean are ideal. Having a grill, covered porches, beach access across the street, and a comfy bed made for a perfect vacation. The street lights at night are disappointing for star gazing, but that is the only downside. We were thrilled with the property and hope to return soon!

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay when choosing Foose's Folly!! We were so impressed with the beach house and the surroundings were impeccable. You could have spent all your time at the house and beach and never went anywhere else if you so desired. It was so fun watching all the surfers and people on the beach, right from our rental house! However, the location was amazing. It was close to great food and shopping on Folly beach but it was also about 20 minutes to downtown Charleston, John's Island etc. It was the perfect location! The rental was just as the pictures showed in the listing, perfect location, great hospitality, clean and the check-in process was easy! Highly recommend Foose's Folly if anyone is looking to stay in the Charleston area.

Breathtaking view. Gorgeous sunrise in the morning and beautiful sunset in the back of the house in the evening. So many little touches. The binoculars come in handy to watch the local

We truly enjoyed our stay. The home was clean, welcoming and had great views of the beach. Only hiccup was a power outage to the house the first day, however the management company arrived quickly. We went to the beach while they worked on it and when we came back it was on. We had a great time and would definitely rent this house again.

We have enjoyed Foose’s Folly for 6 of the past 7 years and consider it our Folly Beach home. However, this year, we were somewhat disappointed for not having access to the ground level bathroom. Which was included in the listing. We love this home and can tell that the owners love this home as well. It’s very clean and no detail of a comfortable home has been omitted.

The home was well equipped and the rental Company was very responsive and easy to work with. We loved being a golf cart ride away from the craziness on center street. Very quiet and fun to watch the surfers. The neighbors did have a party but wasn’t too loud. The Master BR is a few degrees warmer than rest of house. Still loved it and would rent again.

We traveled to Charleston on a girls' family trip and were excited to find this property for our stay. The property is in a great location!! We enjoyed watching all of the surfers from the front deck every morning, and walking the beach at night. This property was close enough for us to do all of our sight seeing and exploring during the day and then being able relax back at the home at night. The house was very nice, clean, and well taken care of. We had no complaints on the accommodations and would definitely stay there again if we travel back to Charleston!

We divided our time between the beach and Charleston which is just a short drive away. We also rented golf carts which were a fun way to hop around town. We decided to stay at the beach instead of downtown Charleston So glad we did. After touring city and plantations it was so nice to head back to beach and sit on the porch and see the beautiful ocean. Sunrise was amazing . Great watching wind surfers. Highly recommend staying here. We loved it!!!The only thing that bothered us was street light, it was bright and we couldn’t see the stars at night or sit on front porch because of the brightness.

This property is a true gem! I didn't realize before arriving that the beach is literally across the street, and has a completely unimpeded view from the house. The house was clean, comfortable, and cozy. It was so nice to walk outside, across the street, and be on the beach in less than 100 yards. Made trips back inside for snacks/drinks/bathroom trips super easy and convenient. We were a bit disappointed/shocked that there were no extra rolls of toilet paper (or paper towels/coffee filters) anywhere in the house - only what was on the roll when we arrived. That's a bit rough when the house sleeps 7 people?! We ran out quickly and came to the realization that there was no extra. I've never had this issue in previous beach rentals. Otherwise, the house and rental experience with these folks was fantastic.

This house was perfect for our family of four and an additional guest. We had a terrific week. The linens are nice. The king beds were nice! There was an abundance of towels, though we didn't use many. We cooked a big meal here one night, and opted for paper plates, as there is no dishwasher. The kitchen is otherwise well equipped with all manner of pots, pans, large serving dishes, etc. We would like to stay here again!

Had a great stay at this home. We had 2 families stay here; we have a 13yr old son and our friends have 12 and 9yr old sons. The location was fantastic. Even though the weather was cold and rainy the first few days, we sat in the living room and could still watch the waves on the ocean. The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Nothing beat drinking coffee on the front porch during sunrise! The only thing I'd say is that while the house is described as sleeping 7, it depends on who the "7th" person is. Each of the main bedrooms has a king size bed. The 3rd bedroom has a twin and a double. My friend's boys slept in the double together, but they definitely would have preferred their own bed. There is another twin bed that's in the living room area. It seems a bit out of place there, but it does provide another sleeping spot. However, it wasn't conducive for us to have a child sleep on the bed because we put the kids to bed earlier. So if the person sleeping on that bed wants to go to bed earlier, then you can't really hang out in the living room. But other than that it was great!! Would definitely stay here again. We loved Folly Beach and the house was perfect for us.

We really loved this house! It was great for three couples and a toddler, but would be absolutely perfect for two couples and some older kids. The 2 king bedrooms are really nice. One has it's own bathroom with a nice large shower. The other one shares a bathroom with the other room, but it's a good size as well. The living space has a nice sized dining table and comfortable furniture. The deck on the front of the house is wonderful. Perfect view of the ocean with rocking chairs. The back deck has a hammock and other furniture. If you are a big cooker, be warned, there is no dishwasher. So if you are packing the house full of people, you may want to keep the dish use to a minimum. The house about 2 miles from all of the folly restaurants though, so we ate out a lot.

Before I even begin to tell you about the property, I must first tell you about the hosts. I booked this lovely beach home for a group of us (5 with enough room for more!) for a destination wedding that was to be held in Charleston that weekend. Due to some unfortunate mail service however, my final payment did not reach Ed and Margie two weeks (or even 2 days) prior to our intended stay. I was, as you may guess, a mess due to the fact that all of the other guests were relying upon me for their stay. Our hosts were not only easy to communicate with they extended to me something which many are no longer willing to do - the courtesy of trust and word! Long and short (and due to their extended kindess) all turned out well in the end. The home is equally charming as the hosts! As many others have stated we enjoyed the extend outdoor living areas so much that we spent as little amount of time on the insides as possible. The front porch was ideal for coffee drinking, people watching, and visiting with old friends who were also in the area for the wedding. (By the way, we were the envied by those who had boring old hotel rooms and stopped by to visit us!). The home is nicely decorated and we found it to satisfy all of our needs with pleanty of room for our guests and with privacy for all of us that stayed in the home. We had the master bedroom and found it to be a very well appointed retreat! I would most certainly recommend this to anyone who is seeking a beach vacation, or as we were a remote location from the city, but within a short drive! The town was also fun and quirky to spend a little bit of time in and our hosts left us with some great recommendations for resturants which we took advantage of! The only regret that we have with this location (other than our mail mishap) is that we did not book it an extra day or two so that we could enjoy it a little bit more! This beach home is the perfect place for a girls week! We had five friends for a long weekend. It was a little chilly out so we all plan to return when the weather warms up! The home is comfortable and the view is everything the reviews all say. The porch is the perfect place to sit any time of day! The grill worked great. The beach chairs were helpful so we did not need to bring any with us. A couple of the beds were slightly uncomfortable but we are all 50+,ladies. They would be perfect for younger folks! The master bed and bath was wonderful! The owners are very kind and responded to any concerns or questions we had! I would highly recommend this property for a week at the beach!

Accommodations were beautiful, comfortable, clean and well stocked. We were there for a family wedding in the area and we were not expecting excitement viewed from the front deck. There were many surfers each day, a surf competition, and beautiful sunrises. An added surprise was that Folly was having Folly Gras mimicking Mardi Gras complete with a parade, beads, vendor. The location worked out well in terms of picking up family members from the airport, touring downtown Charleston and getting to and from the wedding site. I totally recommend this home to others. It was so nice to wake up and sit on the front deck watching the activity while drinking a cup of coffee.

We love this oceanfront home. The pictures truly do not do this little gem justice! Sweeping ocean front views from the front porch, and another amazing view from the back overlooking the waterway. Watch the sunrise each morning from the front porch and set from the back. Accommodations inside are comfortable, warm and inviting, more than ample for a couple families. However, the views are so incredible that we tend to spend very little time inside. The owners are a joy to work with as well, which, combined with those glorious views and spectacular location, has made our decision to return each year an easy one.

The best part of this property is waking up to 180 degree un-obstructed views of a pink and orange sunrises like no other! The location of the house is priceless, we were able to whistle to our kids playing volleyball on the beach to let them know when dinner was ready. We spent hours sitting on the porch watching dolphins playing in the surf with fishing boats on the horizon. The property was clean and had everything we needed to make a beautiful, memorable thanksgiving dinner. The owners were extremely accommodating, so much so that we booked our second trip to the house before checking out from our first stay. We spent the week in this wonderful home right across from the ocean! Sitting on the front porch rocking in the ocean breeze! This beach home is just that a home! It had everything we needed and then some! The beds were very confrontable. The small bed in the living area was great for our new little grandson to take naps on durring the day. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for meals. The full bath door stairs was great for rinsing off after coming off the beach and the huge concrete down stairs on the front was great for our cornhole boards and the back was wonderful in the afternoons for grilling! What a wonderful location, this home has everything. The beach is across the street and you can watch dolphins play almost everyday. We Han one of the most beautiful moon rises we have ever seen. The home is far enough away from the down town Folly area so there is little traffic, at night all you hear is the sound of the ocean. on top of this the owners are very mince friendly people.

We spent a week with our family, including 4 small children and 2 teens, at this wonderful home, and couldn't have found a better place to spend our vacation! It truly is a home away from home! The beds were comfortable and immaculately kept. Ample seating and up-to-date furnishings and decor made our stay warm and inviting. However, the icing on the proverbial cake was the fabulous views from the large, rocking chair-adorned front porch with an uninhibited view of the ocean day and night, and the relaxing, hammock-enhanced, enormous covered deck with a large dining table, perfect for cool evening Dinners as a family! The only thing that I would add to this home would be a front porch swing for total perfection! I cannot say enough just how much we truly enjoyed our stay! The owner is a truly gracious Southern Lady; always friendly, helpful and hospitable. She truly made us feel like family. Hoping to make this home our yearly family getaway!

Absolutely loved the cottage! My Mother, cousin and I spent a wonderful week in this lovely cottage. It is decorated beautifully. The beds and linens were perfect and the kitchen was so well equipped. Everything was crisp, clean and felt like home. Our host was great to work with and even called to make sure that we made it, were comfortable and had everything that we needed. There are TV's in every room and plenty of room for gathering, eating and playing games. When they say the "best view on the beach" they are not kidding! The ocean can be seen from the porch and all of the front rooms. Our week was cool and very windy but we had a couple of days to enjoy the surf and sand. On other days we enjoyed watching the surfers at high tide. We dined at the Crab Shack a couple of times in Folly, wonderful, and spent many hours sight seeing and eating our way through Charleston, not to mention the shopping! I would highly recommend this cottage and it is so close to Charleston that you could visit everyday. I hope to make this a yearly trip.

My daughters and I rented Foose's Folly for Spring Break and had the best time! We had never stayed on Folly before and could not imagine a better location to enjoy it. Wonderful ocean views to enjoy coffee in the morning with the sunrise. The house was so clean and comfortable, everything we needed including Wifi and cable. Our host was gracious enough to let us use their beach chairs so we didn't have to haul that from home. And to just walk across the street and be on the beach can't be beat! We rented bikes and it was just a short ride into downtown Folly where there was great restaurants or to Bert's market for groceries if you didn't want to get in the car. We will definitely go back that is if we can book it. My suggestion to anyone reading this is if your time is available book it ASAP! We were very lucky to get ours. All the dates around us were booked out for months.

We rented this cottage for a month and enjoyed every day. The owners are very gracious and efficiently responsive to requests...they obviously take Pride in their well maintained property. The size and floor plan easily accommodate 6/7 people. The amenities (laundry, very functional and well stocked kitchen, beach chairs/towels etc) afford you the opportunity to spend casual time @ home comfortably. We appreciated the free WI-Fi and large screen TV since our visit coincided with the ACC basketball tourney! The views truly cannot be beat. I still miss the front porch rocking chair perch for my morning coffee. Listening to the lapping and sometimes crashing ocean waves was so serene. Watching the numerous surfers was entertaining. Unfortunately for my waistline I was totally unable to find any low country food to dislike. We feasted on the yummy seafood in Folly Bch, Charleston, Mt Pleasant , Summerville. The location is amenable to frequent jaunts into the city (traffic is heavy so allow extra time) loads of fun stuff to do thru out the area. We golfed at nearby courses with Wild Dunes being our favorite. I highly recommend this property and would definitely return. You will not be disappointed. Clean, cozy venue, tastefully furnished and property well maintained. Location, location, location. ENJOY!!

Foose's Folly was the ideal spot for a perfect beach vacation! We originally chose this rental because it had two king-sized beds and a great view of the ocean from the front porch. It had all that and more! There are enough windows in the house overlooking the ocean in every direction that you could stay inside on the coldest day and still feel like you were sitting on the beach. The house is tastefully decorated and is laid out in a way that is perfect for several people. Our son, daughter-in-law and new grand baby joined us. They were able to stay in the back part of the house and have all the privacy and quiet time that a new baby needs. There are so many wonderful seating areas outside for families and friends to relax and enjoy the ocean. We loved watching the gorgeous sunrise each morning from the spacious front porch. The dolphins were extremely active most mornings which made for a fun way to start our day. The extra bathroom located at ground level and accessible from the outside was another great bonus. We really appreciated the use of the beach chairs the owners store in there for guest use. Our kids loved the convenient location to Charleston where they could enjoy all the comforts of city life while we sat on the front porch enjoying two of God's greatest creations, a precious grand baby and the gorgeous ocean. We've been staying at Folly Beach and other nearby beaches for years and came upon Foose's Folly two years ago. What a fabulous discovery. Margie and Ed are gracious people and have the most accommodating beach house one could ever hope to find. The kitchen, bedrooms, living & dining rooms are delightful. No words can be said which convey the spectacular views from the deck and porch. The mornings, with coffee cup in hand, and evenings enjoying wonderful conversations, sounds, and views, truly made a peaceful respite. We feel that we have discovered long ago friends with their next door neighbors. We will plan our future vacations at Foose's Folly for years to come.

I will highly recommend this lovely home. It feels like home, well kept, comfortable beds, clean and welcoming... home. This house offers everything you will need, it is well equipped and fully furnished with beautiful furniture and everything you need to cook with and serve in the kitchen. You can not beat the view. Stunning. Sitting on the porch listening to the surf and watching the waves was a wonderful humbling experience. Walking the beach everyday brought me great joy. We had a lovely stay for our family of six at this home right across the road from the beach. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching the surfers and the dolphins in the morning. We made good use of the large back porch for meals outside and made good use of the hammocks and beach chairs. We had everything we needed for a great family week of rest and relaxation, along with great seafood recommendations from the owners of the property. The location was perfect, and the owners were most accommodating and quick to respond to emails and phone calls before and after our stay. The house could not have been nicer or more well set-up for a family gathering. The property was immaculate and so very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Folly Beach in this beautiful home!

Our family stayed at Foose's Folly for three nights, and we couldn't have asked for a better place! The pictures and description here just don't do it justice, as it was much better than we expected. Margie is a pleasure to communicate with, and is very accommodating! The house was very, very clean and so comfortable, it felt like we were at home. The front porch sittin' (and back porch) is amazing with a wonderful view of the ocean, a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee, or a nice drink. The house felt very roomy and well equipped with a lot of amenities, complimentary wi-fi, and a lot of spots to sit and relax, (and there is a TV in every room). It is a very quiet area, and in a convenient location (Charleston is just a short drive). The road was never busy, which made our morning jogs more enjoyable. There are also a lot of good restaurants and shopping nearby, which is always nice.. We highly recommend this beach house, and thank you Margie and Ed for sharing your lovely home! We can't wait to come back!!!

This was a wonderful vacation house! We had a mini beach vacation in the middle of our week and we could not have asked for more. The house had all we needed, and it was clean and comfortable. The location of the house was perfect - walk across the street to the beach - gorgeous view from the porch - we spent a lot of time on the beach and on the porch. We saw dolphins swimming by, surfers, boats, ships and birds. The front porch, sitting in the rocking chairs, was great to watch the sunrise and the back deck was great to watch the sunset. Very relaxing area away from the busy beach in town. The town of Folly Beach was great for shopping and local dining was great. The drive into Charleston was easy too - a quick 20 minute drive from the house. We would recomend bringing your bikes because the distance to the lighthouse and into the town of Folly Beach was perfect for biking! Thank you for a great place to stay!

We stayed at Foose's Folly for three months and everyday as I came home to the portion of the beach locally known as "The Washout" the tension in my shoulders relaxed and I'd take in a deep breath of the ocean breeze. We enjoyed lazy mornings with a cup of coffee in the rocking chairs on the porch as we watched the surfers. When the tide is low you can walk the beach the entire distance (1.5mi) to the lighthouse or in the other direction (2 mi) to the Folly beach pier. We enjoyed the restaurants nearby including Bowen's Island Restaurant, Taco Boy & The Lost Dog Cafe. There's often live music at some of the places on Folly Road but I usually preferred the quiet of the house. There are three bedrooms but if you wanted a relaxing girls weekend there are a total of 8 spots on beds & a couch, not to mention two hammocks and a great outside picnic table. Surfers, families, girls beach week... this would be a good place and the price is a deal! (But if you're looking for a party weekend, this is probably not the place for you.) The home is clean, cozy & comfortable. The landlords are a pleasure. Hope you enjoy, we did! -Jennie

Margie and Ed have everything (and more) you could possibly need for a perfect vacation. The brand new coffee pot was a plus for us and the kitchen is totally stocked. Some vacation rentals just have a minimum of towels, kitchen utensils - but not Fosse's Folly - it is more than WELL EQUIPPED for anything you would need. Very spacious and you can choose where you want to be outside. There is a wonderful downstairs area with a hanging swing, and table, chairs, and grill. Upstairs hammock with more adirondeck chairs and the front deck of the house overlooking the ocean - incredible views - we got to watch (we counted 76) surfers for a few days and an occasional dolphin passing. If there is a negative to Folly Beach - it would be the samll beach area. Not the best place to surf fish. But there is a wonderful pier very close by. The food was also better than average. Bowen's Island was a unique experience, and the Crab Shack was very good as well. I would highly recommend this house and this area for a relaxing vacation. not too crowded and the people were just so nice and helpful. I can't say enough about Foose's Folly - it's just the best.

Our family plus two rented Foose's Folly in late Summer 2012 -- what a gem! We had plenty of space and all the amenities were available that made our week a really relaxing beach getaway. Charleston was only a short ride away for day trips as well. Margie and Ed have made this beach house a wonderful place for families to make lasting vacation memories. Hubby and I have stayed various cottages , condos and hotels on Folly since our first yearly visit in 1993 but this wonderful cottage is by far the best! Came with our daughter, her husband and 2 year old daughter....my other daughter and her husband and 13 year old son stopped by for one night and we all had quite enough room and just a great time! The cottage is ultimate in cleanliness , which I am very cautious about....no odors , smells or other displeasing scents which I have found in all other places we have stayed. Plenty of towels, blankets and necessities to keep you from wanting to leave even to visit the Pier! Beds ultimately comfy, clean and cozy which is a major focal point for me! Nights on the decks were beautiful, we saw fireworks the last night there, very quiet neighborhood otherwise, people friendly and atmosphere best on Folly! I absolutely will book early next year as I see it is always booked, we simply were blessed to be able to find Foose's Folly this time:)
