Had a great time. The pool was clean and super warm, plenty of room and seating inside and outside the house, even on site laundry with detergent pods provided. If you’ve ever been to Folly, then you know the location is excellent. If you’re on any of the streets right off of Center, you can easily walk to the beach or any of the bars and restaurants.

Directions were explicit and easy to follow. The photos were accurate. The pool was wonderful to spend some time in after the beach. Kitchen was well appointed with all needed equipment. The second bathroom is located in the nearby, as in 15 feet, bath house which ended up to be perfect for showers after the beach. We saw the owners once for a few minutes. They were very friendly. It seemed like we had the place to ourselves. very walkable to Center street, as well as the beach, but far enough that is was very quiet.

This cottage was perfect for our family of four. It is conveniently located a short walk from the beach. The kids had a blast in the pool and the host was a joy to speak with. We highly recommend it and will try to return here for our next trip to Folly Beach!

This cottage was a great spot for our trip. It was comfortable and having a pool was awesome. It was close to the beach, 2 blocks, and several restaurants and a small market. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go. The only issue was the address which is 316 East Cooper but the door opens onto East Erie. Our Ubers picked up and dropped off on Erie Ave.

We had a great time. Close to the beach and an excellent place. Y'all might want to check the plumbing; the sink in the kitchen and the bathroom were very slow draining. The small bedroom with the ceiling fan had a kind of funky smell, like mildew and nicotine. We sprayed and it was fine, but might want to check! Overall a great time was had by all!!!!

The house is just as described. You have to go to the back to come in rather than entering from the address side, which was funny! We found everything to be delightfully clean and even met the owners upstairs, who were fabulous. I highly recommend!

The kitchen was fully equipped with a nice charcoal grill to cook for my family, affordable, and has a great location, the master bedroom mini blinds do not close well and need replacing, and the cottage needs a dehumidifier because it remains humid, in addition to this we found two live roaches, consider regular pest control visits

This property was a perfect 10. It was exactly true to the listing description. The owners were nice and friendly. Beach access was a super easy 2 block walk. The selling point for me was the private pool. We enjoyed the pool all day long when we weren’t at the beach. The separate full bathroom out by the pool was really convenient and our daughter and son in law used it the entire time as their separate bathroom space. Folly has lots of restaurants within walking distance but we also cooked a couple dinners in the well equipped kitchen. There are lots of souvenir shops on Folly Island-also within walking distance. We found Bert’s Market to be a unique, small town grocery store with everything from complimentary coffee to fresh sushi and dragonfruit sorbet. Folly Island has a relaxed Carribean vibe that our family loved. Folly, you were good to us-we may be back!

All in all, this was the right venue for us, as our grad school daughter lives on the island and we were going hack and forth between her place and this beach property. Communications with the owner were very easy. (We had no problems, just questions about things.) Access to the beach was easy, although the weather didn’t cooperate. The only draw back i would say is that the place sleeps 6 but i think 6 adults would have felt very cramped, especially with less than ideal weather.

Great time in the mother-in-law/separate entrance beach house. The salt water pool was refreshing on hot days and perfect to work next to in a big lounge chair. The owners were welcoming and nice. We had a little trouble getting in (code not active) but the property managers fixed it over the phone. Walking distance to beach, Center St, restaurants and shops. Cooked very little at home, but the kitchen had everything you'd need. We were doing remote school & work and the wi/fi was strong enough. Tips for COVID-safe activities: the Morris Island lighthouse walk is lovely, live outdoor music at Chico Feo, beach yoga with Serenity Tree, surf lessons with Isla Surf School, patio dining & Indian fusion at Jack of Cups and Rita's for seafood and kids meals served on a frisbie to keep.

We had a great time! Owners were very hospitable. Place was clean and perfect size for our family of 4 (two young children under 4). We didn’t see a single palmetto bug the whole time either, unlike the other reviews. Lots of streaming services for our kiddos. We never tried to walk to the beach having toddlers but the beach access is about 500 ft away. Very short drive. Enjoyed the pool during the afternoons. Overall great place to stay if you’re wanting some beach days!

We enjoyed our stay and the rental process was great! Property was clean and overall a great stay. This is a lower level apartment and the owners who live above were very kind.. I would make a couple of recommendations. 1. Provide an iron. 2. The functionally od the television is not good. Other than that we had a wonderful weekend stay!

This house was perfect for us-3 adults and 3 kids(7,6 and 4)! There was plenty of room in the bedrooms, the kitchen was large, very clean, well stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. and ALL the appliances worked well. The laundry room was roomy and both machines worked well. I thought we might have an issue with just one bathroom inside, but with the bathroom outside in the pool house we were just fine. Having the bathroom with a shower outside next to the pool was fantastic! After returning from the beach(which was a very short, easy walk with 3 kids in 90 degree heat carrying all our gear), we washed off chairs, sand toys, etc with the convenient hose just outside the gate and then went straight to the pool house with the kids and got them showered and dressed before ever going inside the house( just remember to leave towels and change of clothes in the pool house before leaving for the beach. The pool was perfect when we didn't want to take everything to the beach or when it was just too hot. And it was great to cool off after a morning at the beach, too. We enjoyed grilling by the pool(you need charcoal and lighter). There were plenty of places to sit and eat by the pool- 2 tables /10 chairs, 3 chaise lounges and even a porch swing. And I can't forget the owners who lived upstairs and were delightful and helpful, especially when we didn't have a lighter for the grill!

The Best Rentals staff

I've nothing but good to say about this place. Three bedroooms, one bath, adequately stocked kitchen (I didn't find a coffee grinder, and had to go back to Berts to grind what I thought was gound coffee), plenty of common space, and a nice little pool - perfect for our young granddaughter. Very clean. Owner's live upstairs, and are pleasant. (And … I left a camera batter and charger, and Folly's Best Rentals retrieved it and sent it to me. Much appreciated.)

Great location, clean, plenty of cooking stuff, baggies, paper towels etc. Bring own beach towels and necessities. Pool is clean and great after day at the beach. Outdoor sitting area is nice. We could only get one channel on the TV. Great place and would return.

The property location to beach and town is convenient. The pool was great. My kids loved having a pool right outside with clothesline and shower. The outdoor shower/bathroom was not that helpful to us as we preferred indoor one. House itself is ok. Bedding linens very nice (sheets and pillows). Bathroom shows signs of wear (caulking a bit moldy, paint needs touch ups). Vanity very nice. Rug and furniture also a bit used and worn down... good if you don't want to worry your kids may wreck it. Washer and dryer easily available but tricky to start... coffee pot had a hole in the reusable coffee filter. Dishwasher was not the best at cleaning dishes. There is nothing to reuse in kitchen (spices or oil). Make sure you bring your own. Fine supply of pots and pans and glasses etc. owners very nice and friendly with their little poodle dog upstairs. Construction going on in front of the property (deck in top floor) so there were workers walking thru the pool area especially in morning 1 or 2. The pool and location (proximity) to another family's house were my reasons for renting and they did not disappoint. Parking very nice as well. There are no beach chairs, buckets or boogie boards available to borrow as with other rentals so bring your own.

We had a great week at the cottage. Everything about the stay was just what we hoped for. The pool right outside our front door made the week for us. It was a short walk to the beach as well. Having s yard to come out to relax was amazing ..... And we got to use our hammock which made for perfect nights under the stars. The extra bathroom outdoors In the pool house was very handy. Every now and then we could hear walking upstairs.

My fiancé and I have two baby girls and this was our very first family vacation. We could've got a room at the hotel on the beach but I'm all for the experience and I am extremely happy with our choice to stay at the Folly Cottage! It was clean, comfortable, peaceful and we had a pool all to ourselves. We were so close to everything we didn't need to move our car. The owners of the house do live right upstairs, but they are hardly ever home and when they are, you won't even notice. We ran into Mr. Owner twice and he was the sweetest person he introduced himself and shared the history of the house with us which added a little sugar on top of our stay. It a wonderful beach, the locals are great, it's beautiful, and we will be staying again!

Great Place! We've stayed at several different places in Folly Beach, and this was the best. It was roomy and clean and comfortable. The location is just a short walk to Bert's store and also to the downtown area and beach. I think we'll be staying here again .I recommend this to all.

We enjoyed our stay at the Folly Cottage. The 3 bedroom lower level apartment is below the owner's main residence. The unit has a great pool that is mostly private. The owners never shared the pool with us during our stay, however they do walk through this area as they travel from their home to their parking spot. They were nice people but please keep in mind that you are sharing their home so in some aspects this felt like a bed and breakfast stay without formal hosts or breakfast. The home's location was terrific just a short 5 minute walk to the beach and downtown Folly. The unit was clean and the kitchen well stocked for cooking and food prep needs. There was condensation on the AC vent in the bathroom (which I reported to management upon our departure) and some "minor" mold issues in the bathroom as a result of not having an exhaust fan to remove the moisture. The pool house has a full air conditioned bathroom only steps away from the apartment and it was great to use when the apartment bathroom was occupied. This quiet cottage is a value and would be great for a couple or a couple with up to two children. Thanks for allowing us to rent your home for a week at Folly Beach.

My kids loved the fact that it was such a short walk to the beach and just minutes away from ice cream on Center St. My favorite part was the private pool (I am not a sand lover, so it was perfect for me.)
