Great place to stay for a weekend at Folly. Away from the main drag, but it is walkable if you don't mind a little exercise. Great peaceful porch for watching the marsh, and a 90-second walk to the beach.

I had a wonderful time at Folly Beach! The home was positioned in the most perfect location. I could view the gorgeous waterway but was also only 2 blocks from the beach. The downtown area was very walkable. Rita’s Restaurant as well as the small shops were such a treat!

A great place to bring the whole family including the dogs for a beach vacation. The house was a short walk to the beach. There were plenty of supplies to get started for vacation. Toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, etc. The fenced in backyard was secure enough for our dogs to stretch their legs while we relaxed on the back porch without have to worry about them escaping. I think the best part of this stay was how clean it was when we arrived. I’ve been to plenty of vacation houses that seemed to have been quickly wiped down with little attention to actually cleaning. That was not the case with this house. You could tell the cleaning crew took the time to do the job right.

Our family loved staying here! The house is private and shaded by large trees. We enjoyed the porch view of the marsh and listening to the birds. The open floor plan and having a bathroom in each bedroom was really handy. Nice area, driveway parking and proximity to the beach are big pluses.

We have stayed at folly many times but this has been the best house! Only a quick walk to the beach with excellent views of the river from the back deck. Very private fully fenced in yard. The dogs loved looking out from the deck to the quiet street and river below. Everything inside was modern, clean, and exactly what we needed for a getaway.

This was a perfect stay for our family of 4 plus our pup. The location was perfect - just a couple of blocks from the beach and about 1 mile to downtown Folly. The house itself was perfectly arranged, with all the kitchen amenities to cook our Thanksgiving meal! The back porch and fenced in yard was where we stayed most of the time. The view and letting the pup roam was just perfect. I would definitely stay here again!

House is very nice and clean. It's a really cozy little place. It's 8 blocks away from all the big hotels and such in down town folly but it's still really easy to get too. We loved our week down there and can't wait to go back!!

Location is perfect. Short walk straight down the street to the beach and backyard overlooking the marsh was beautiful to watch sunsets from the covered back deck. Everything was great. This house was perfect. Great driveway for parking multiple vehicles, beautiful view of the marsh and a 3 minute walk to the beach.
The animal pet fee is a little confusing. They reached out and asked us to pay a pet fee for the 3 dogs that we brought but the Airbnb policy already says we paid for two in the up front listing price so that was a bit confusing but other than that the rental company was very responsive and friendly.
Plus we were able to book an extra day so that was great as well!
Overall recommend this spot for sure!

We had a great week. It is our 2nd stay at this cottage. It is in great proximity to the beach and is the perfect size for our family. We love that we can bring our pup! Even the one hurricane day didn't bother us. We didn't lose power and the water receded quickly.

Small but cute. Property was just as described and as shown in the pictures. Very easy Beach access and great backyard for two dogs. We enjoyed the back deck and sunset while dogs roamed in yard. Found enough utensils and cooking items for dining in for three of us. Great restaurants nearby. We enjoyed walks, beach, biking, and the house. Will return!

Beautiful location with marsh views. House was perfect for our family of 3. Fully fenced in which was great for the dogs. Would book again! Only recommendation is bringing a pillow topper for the mattresses if you’re used to a softer bed.

Place is great! Very sweet little beach house. I would give 4.5 stars because the second bedroom (with all the windows in the photos) is in need of some TLC. There are cafe drapes (half drapes) on all the windows which leads to the room being very bright at night with the street lights, etc shining in. The windows are amazing - but full sized drapes would go a long way. Additionally, the mattress is in desperate need of a flip or a topper- I could feel (and hear) all the springs in the mattress at night. Not great. So overall, house is amazing! Neither of the issues with that one bedroom would stop me from coming again - I might just bring a foam pad and eye mask for that room. It really is a great house! Beautiful backyard and view. Very responsive hosts when I had questions.

A charming perfectly located cottage by the shore. Just two short blocks from endless sand and a backyard that extends through the marsh. Everything you need in the home. And located in a very quiet corner of Folly Beach….just excellent.

Really great rental. Very clean. As other reviewers said, the kitchen is sparsely stocked, but we made it work. The master bed was a little rickety but comfortable. The yard was great for our dog. We would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our time at the house with our family of 4 and dog. The fenced in yard was great and the view of the marsh out the back deck was quite nice. It is a very very short walk to the beach and the beach is very nice and not too crowded. It is far enough away from the center of town, that you do not attract those beach goers. The house is located on a corner with a nice multi-entrance driveway. It is a few minute drive to the center of Folly Beach where all the shops and restaurants are. We had a great time with our dog on the beach in the mornings before it really heated up. Around 7am or so, there are not many people on the beach and a great time for the dog to run around and enjoy the surf. We enjoyed evening stand-up paddle boarding with SUP Safari and a great dolphin boat ride with Charleston Outdoor Adventures. We'd recommend booking those.

Great location only 2 short blocks from beach access, easy peasy, with a view to the sound. House setting is quiet and private, away from the bustling hubbub of Center St but only a 20 minute walk there - makes for a sweet evening stroll for dinner.

This Folly beach cottage does not disappoint. We were pleasantly surprised that the views were just as beautiful, if not more so, in person. The backyard views are mesmerizing. The proximity to the beach is so convenient. The neighborhood is lovely and quaint. There is a mix of original homes along with some new homes, as well as some renovated homes. This historical town has much to offer with its beautiful beach, its cozy town, and its convenient proximity to Charleston. Folly Beach does not tolerate the party crowd. This is not a beach for you to drink in the sand and play loud music. It’s quite the relaxing and quiet environment. We never felt crowded while we were here and we went during a very busy time. There is only one downside to this cottage and that is the rental property next-door (across side street). Having said that, though, do not let this deter you. For some, loud noise from a neighboring rental may not be an issue. For us, it is. We prefer 9 or 10 o’clock bedtimes and we like tranquil and quiet environments. We endured two different renters while we were in our cottage. Each renter attempted to play loud music and sit by their pool/hot tub late at night, but the noise was quickly eliminated by the Folly Beach public safety officers. They are wonderful! If you rent this property and hear any loud noise, all you have to do is call 911 and ask for the Folly Beach public safety and let them know your issue and they will be out within, in our case, less than 15 minutes. Our issues were entirely alleviated with both renters and we had the most wonderful stay. There are very stringent noise ordinances in Folly Beach, which makes for a very relaxing vacation. The neighborhood is so safe and so enjoyable for walking into town or just going for a stroll. We would absolutely rent this cottage again! It is so charming with its wood floors, cozy fireplace, open floor plan, and incredibly large portion. The entire property feels so private with itslushlandscaping. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch every morning and every evening looking at the views. One evening we saw three beautiful deer walking through the marsh. We could not get enough of the backyard view. We took our two small dogs. This house and yard are perfect for accommodating dogs. Highly recommend this cottage!

Great house and property with a fenced yard for the dogs to enjoy a vacay! We stayed with 4 adults and 2 dogs- plenty of room for everyone and lots of parking. A perfect picturesque setting. Rent a golf cart and explore the island- make sure you go out to the lighthouse. Hope to come back here again!

This is more of feed back for Folly's Best Rentals. Our original Vrbo was damaged by a hurricane so was not available. FBR found us another location that was more expensive, but kept the price for the original property. Not sure when they would have notified us of the damage to Folly Bungalow if I had not called to check on bringing another dog. They gave us the option of full refund or upgrade. We took the upgrade, though it did not have the fenced in yard the original property had that we needed. The property, Stilted Views, was nice but the only yard was the front yard, the back yard, what little there is, floods at high tide, and front yard had fire ant mounds which made it impossible to leave the pups alone on tethers. Public beach access in front has been closed but another is just down the street. Overall a great place that is quiet and nice location with beautiful views, just keep in mind you will need to take your dogs down stairs for them to do their business on a leash. As for Folly's Best Rentals, they were excellent once we got the change made. Would rent property from them again.

This bungalow is cute as can be — pictures do not do it justice. It was neat as a pin and our experience with Folly’s Best Rentals could not have been better. Highly recommend this house - close enough to Center Street for convenience but feels far away from the crowds and revelry.

My friends and I had so much fun at the Folly Bungalow this weekend. It has a great porch where we hung out in the evenings together. It’s a block from the beach and not far from Center street. Highly recommend!

We travel a bit and use VRBO often, and I don't give great reviews lightly. Folly Bungalow is as comfortable, livable and well stocked as anywhere we've stayed. We pretty well lived on the screened porch with its lovely river view and necessary ceiling fan. The porch is even screened beneath the decking. We cooked fabulous seafood meals daily in the very well stocked kitchen. Short walk to the beach. I can't think of anything lacking. And it's dog-friendly! It was managed by Folly's Best, and they took care of my question and also a tiny maintenance news promptly. As a footnote, or original rental was on the NC coast, and Hurricane Florence forced us to change direction last minute. I can't imagine why this wonderful home was available, but we're grateful that it was!

Words cannot describe how beautiful, cozy, organized, and romantic the beach cottage is. Minta thought of everything! Even the light switches were labeled. It was so handy to have laundry detergent & basket in the washroom...its the little things. Believe me, when they say “find your happy place,” this is It. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it in a Southern Charm magazine, or Better Homes and Gardens. The full-length, fully screened back porch, with its inviting adirondack chairs, and even more inviting hammock swing, candles and large ceiling fan was the icing on the cake. The outside shower station for rinsing off sand was awesome. And the delicious bed linens were just that. This momma and her 4 grown boys (27,26, 17, 17) had more than enough room. Heres an area tip...skip the line at Lost Dog restaurant, and go across the street to The Washout. And for the seafood of your southern childhood...go to Bowens Island, less than 5 miles away.
