The Jolly Folly

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this house. Everything you could need or want to visit is within a 5 to 10 minute walk. The house was exceptionally clean, and had lots of space and beds for a big group. My kids really appreciate the space upstairs, with huge tvs, games, and a pool table. We weren’t able to enjoy the pool and hot tub, as it was December, but it was beautiful to look at and I’m sure a lovely place to stay cool in the summer. Would definitely recommend this house to everyone, and we hope to stay again!

This house was amazing. It was clean, had a well-stocked kitchen, plenty of room and was easily accessible to the downtown area. There were plenty of areas to congragate to watch tv or play card games. We loved the hot tub, but wished that it stayed hot all day. The rental info was very clear however that it was only to be used 4-10. The only complaint that we have is that there were not any throw blankets or extra bedding. We went on a very cold long weekend and it would have been nice to have some while we lounged. The check in and check out were super easy and the rental co communicated very promptly.

This is an amazing house! It is in the perfect location in Folly Beach! It is a couple blocks from the beach (you can hear the ocean from the porch/yard!) and is a 10-15 min walk to Center Street. There is a hot tub and pool, a screened porch, a pool table, plenty of parking, plenty of beds, and plenty of kitchen supplies. The decor is pretty remarkable as well.

Wonderful home for our family group of 10 people. We really enjoyed the game room and the large dining table was perfect for our meals together. The kitchen was so well stocked with everything we needed to cook for a large group and the house provided a lot of room for everyone to spread out and do different things. They have carefully thought out what you need to be successful (e.g. two refrigerators, very large washer and dryer, pool table). The location is great...close enough to walk to central (.3m), but far enough to be free from the total chaos. Host was friendly and responsive, but also did not micro manage anything and was out of site unless we needed her. I very much appreciated the house and would go to the same location again (if they have us back :) ).

House was well appointed with all the amenities listed. Close to beach and town. We weren’t able to use the pool till the second day due to filter being shut off by previous renters but the pool maintenance guy spent some time cleaning so we were able to use it during our stay. I only gave it a 4 star for price. it’s expensive and it would be nice to have beach towels supplied when you travel from far away. Overall we had a great visit and the rental company was on top of everything.

The property worked perfect for our family! It was in a great location close to the beach and in walking distance to shops/restaurants. It was so nice to have beach toys, pool floaties, and games to play at the property so we didn't have to purchase all of these.

we had a great time at the Jolly Folly! The house is beautiful and we loved all the quirky art. we didn't get to use the pool because it's January but it was beautiful and the Cabana was amazing. We were on a girls' trip we do every year to beat the winter doldrums this was absolutely the perfect place for that! I would absolutely recommend it

The home is beautiful! Has everything you need.
Few things to note for future renters that was not clear to us:
There is a grill but they do not provide propane
The 2nd beds in 3 of the rooms are twins, not doubles
They charge you for early check in or late check out
It's a 20 minute walk to the main strip on Folly
The pool is shaded and not in the sun
The main room has very dim lighting for dinner

The place was laid out nicely for large groups. Really nice pool and hot tub. Close walk to the beach. Very responsive. Only negative is the grill was there but there was no propane and we didn’t find out until the moment we tried to start grilling. All other instructions were so detailed, I would have expected them to let us know the gas would not be provided if the grill is.

Great location. Walkable to center of town and beach. Comfortable living space with open layout. A bit pricey but worth our stay after a long drive. Pool was refreshing after a long day in the sun. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful home less than a block from the beach. Easily access downtown Folly and a short Uber into Charleston. The home itself is fully updated, perfect for a bigger group and plenty of space. Hang out in the pool or enjoy the deck and yard out back. Would definitely book again when traveling to Folly.

The place is perfect for groups of big family vacations. The pool is beautiful and the hot tub works great! The controls for the tub and pool were a little tricky to get set up, but once we got that it was all good. VERY easy walk to the beach and good location in relation to the main drag of things in Folly. Drive to Charleston was under 30 minutes too! Loved the rental.

We had a delightful Thanksgiving week at the Jolly Folly! The property proved to be an ideal fit for our large family, consisting of 8 adults, 3 kids, and 3 dogs. Its excellent location near the beach and local restaurants/shops added to the overall enjoyment, and the house was thoughtfully equipped for hosting dinners, including our Thanksgiving feast. We were particularly pleased with the responsiveness of the property owners. Before our stay, there were some issues with the pool heater, but they promptly informed us and kept us updated on the repair process. Their attentiveness contributed to a smooth and enjoyable experience. We can't wait to visit the Jolly Folly again soon!

We enjoyed everything about our brief end-of-summer stay at The Jolly Folly! The proximity to the beach and restaurants/shops was perfect for us. And, the home itself was fun, inviting, and relaxing. We especially loved the pool and spa! Having visited Folly Beach many times over the last 10 years.....this is probably our favorite spot we've stayed in! We booked last minute - a previous host cancelled our stay less than 24 hours of being there for my sister's Bachelorette party. So imagine the stress of coordinating a group of girls and having this happen! I luckily stumbled upon The Best and it truly was the best! The house was so clean and tidy. Looked exactly like the pictures. So close to the beach - the house had chairs, a cooler and umbrella which came in handy, not a far walk where the bars and restaurants were - quick and easy for us to get back and forth. Host was very responsive and had the maintenance staff come quick and efficiently when we had an issue with the HVAC and garbage disposal. Both fixed without a problem and they were in and out and didn't disrupt our stay at all. I'd absolutely stay here again.

Stayed here over the weekend and everything was perfect. Plenty of space, beds, bathrooms and showers. The location was unless than 5 mins to the beach, and 10 mins to downtown folly. There’s a 24/7 store close by TF or any needs. Would recommend and stay here again.

Comfortably fit our group of 9, was a close barely one block to the beach, and the house had anything we could possibly need. The pool table made for lots of fun evenings. Unfortunately although one of the decks is “screened in,” the door doesn’t actually seal/shut all the way so there were lots of mosquitos which made the deck not very useful at night. Check in was a little frustrating and unnecessary in my opinion. Overall had a great time and would definitely come again.

5-minute walk to a wonderful beach. House was clean and cool when we needed it. The games, pool table, and amazing kitchen were perfect when people were done with the sun. A big plus is the proximity to town. Walking to restaurants and Bert's market is perfect when it gets really crowded during the weekends. One thing I would love to see there is a large table outside to eat at. We always ate dinner outside and would have loved something where we could all sit at.

The updated kitchen with an island large enough to gather around was a popular spot for our family to spend time. Beaten out only by the large screen porch with fans that helped the breeze cool you off. Short walk to the beach and easy walk to 'downtown' made it the perfect spot. When we did have a problem it was resolved within an hour late on a Sunday afternoon which was a pleasant surprise. We'd definitely stay again any chance we get.

We needed a place for about 12 people we had relatives that lived nearby but we have a lot of friends and relatives traveling from out of state everyone was really happy with the house that was very nicely outfitted. Especially the kitchen had the best supplies of any place I’ve rented and I’ve done a lot of VRBO rentals! The location was perfect we could walk to the beach in a minute walk into town in 15 minutes, it was relatively quiet and enough room and areas for people to hang out in. We enjoyed the property and the area so much we’re talking about making it an annual event. My only recommendation would be to have beach towels available.

We were a group of 10 ladies, and we all loved this house. There is so much room! Everyone had their own bed. There are plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen is huge and has everything you need (two fridges!). The screen-in front porch is basically another living room and was the hub of all the activity. You are a short walk from the beach and a short walk from stores and restaurants. We have already talked about when we can come back.

The house was very clean and the most well equipped kitchen I’ve experienced in a rental. The rooms and beds are very comfortable and spacious. We were there over Christmas and they even had a Christmas tree there. The screened porch was an excellent space for everyone and definitely the back deck with fenced yard for the dogs. We had an issue while there (low battery on smoke detector) and it was taken care of immediately. Would recommend this house for multiple families with dogs.

We all were throughly impressed with the house, especially the large screened-in front porch and the well-equipped kitchen. The proximity to the beach and town were also great. The pool table was a nice surprise, and one that our nephews and brothers took full advantage of. The only disappointment was not having sports or news cable channels, but the wifi worked great for everyone. I highly recommend the Jolly Folly for large family get-togethers.
