The Town of Folly Beach Rules

Please be advised that while dogs are allowed at Folly Beach during specific times of the year, there are several rules that you must follow if you plan to bring your dog to Folly Beach to keep your dog safe.

• Dogs are prohibited from being on the beach from 10am to 6pm, May 1 to September 30. The remainder of the year, dogs are allowed on the beach. While this seems like it would be a great time to bring your dog to the beach, dogs may not respond well to crowds or the heat during the summer. Your dog is more than welcome to visit Folly Beach with you during the off-season, from October 1 to April 30.
• Your dog must be on a leash at all times when not behind a closed door. Leash laws are enforced on Folly Beach. While a leash is required outside, running, walking, playing, and swimming are all activities that are allowed for you and your pup.
• You must pick up dog waste and throw in a trash can. You will find pet waste bags at beach access points if you forget to bring bags with you.
